Jack Larson (a.k.a. Jimmy Olsen):
"Pete Murano has done an amazing job!"
Noel Neill (a.k.a. Lois Lane)
"Lot's of fun...I love it!"
"An absolute must for all Superman fans!"
The following is a tribute written to Jim Nolt by Peter Murano:
I have met Jim Nolt only one time, but I am most thankful for that opportunity. It was on a seasonable day back in May of 2002. At the
time, I was working in Washington D.C. for the USDA Food and Nutrition Service, a truly remarkable government agency, with wonderful
people, and tremendous programs. (Even a group of dedicated George Reeves/Superman fans!). Well, since Lititz, Pennsylvania was rather
close (compared to, say, Texas!), I decided to contact Jim and ask if he would take a look at a few pages from a manuscript I had started
writing. He said, "sure", and so off we drove to meet him at a local eatery of his choosing. We had lunch together - Jim, my wife Elsa,
and me.
I found Jim to be a most pleasant and articulate person, very knowledgeable, and I had the opportunity to exchange lines from the series,
hear Jim read from my pages aloud, and also share thoughts about varied issues. We laughed quite a bit too, as I recall. And, I learned
a whole lot from Jim in the short time we were together, about the Superman series, about the latest whereabouts of this person and that
person, and in general formed the opinion that this was the closest I could ever get to actually meeting George Reeves himself, with the
exception of meeting Jack Larson and Noel Neill one day. In the succeeding years, we have kept in touch thanks to the "miracle" of email.
It is Jim, more than anyone, who provided the encouragement to me to finish my book project.
Most readers are aware of Jim's most outstanding George Reeves site: "The Adventures Continue" (www.jimnolt.com). For fans of George Reeves,
and for fans of Jack Larson and Noel Neill, and the other wonderful actors to appear on Superman, Jim's site is simply worth its weight in
gold. No, make that platinum! (a weak attempt on my part to link to episode #104, "All That Glitters"). Without it, our universe would be a
much less pleasant place. Visit T.A.C. over and over, because you will find so much material of interest there, both continuously added, as
well as archived, that make it a true delight. Jim possesses far-reaching insight into George Reeves and the show, to an extent that no one
else can provide, and he shares it with us through his site.
Thank you, Jim, for all the many years of love, effort, dedication, and energy you have brought to keeping this wonderful phenomenon, The
Adventures of Superman, before the public. It is so tremendously appreciated. It would be fun, and fitting, if artist Randy Garrett one day
(maybe on Jim's birthday?) would present him with a new painting, of side-by-side Kent & Superman poses as in the show's opening credits,
but have Jim be in the suit, and also wearing the costume and cape! And, would someone please conduct a lengthy video interview with our
Mr. Nolt, and preserve for succeeding generations the wealth of information and personal insight and impressions of this unique human
being? Thanks!
